25 Random Facts about me
Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.
(To do this, go to "notes" under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.)
1. Although Chinese elementary school began to teach English at third grade (Probably earlier these days), I learned most of my English through Movie, TV shows(Comedy Central), Music during Junior High.
2. A few of the first things I bought after I came to US: 4 Pellet Rifles(since I was told I need to get a license to buy a real gun), Casino table&chips, a Fender guitar.
3. I've owned more than 20 guitars, once there was 7 in my room.
4. I don't think I have talent as an artist, but I do enjoy playing and writing music, photograph, designing,.etc, just as entertainment, rather than achievement.....
5. I do think I have talent for imitation. I guess that's why I learn new sports really quick.
6.Just like other male animals, I like weapons/cars a lot, however, I prefer the British ones to American ones.......
7. Unlike other male animals, I enjoy cooking(as long as I have time for it), and I think I could do pretty well.
8. My real mentor is my father, I learned that after I turned 20.
9. What I am actually doing in grad school, and all my previous research, and all the things I am good at, should be in Linguistic/Language/Behavioral Science/Information Science dept. However, there isn't one. So I am here at Dept of Geography.
10. I love learning foreign languages. They represent different ways of thinking.
10. I once talked to the Prime Minister of China (his name is Wen Jiabao), face to face, in the lab of our library, while he was visiting our campus.
11. This is really embarrassing, the more familiar I am with other people, the more awkward I become when I am with them (especially with girls). I am usually quite relaxed with strangers.
12. I recognize people by face/gesture/signature smiles....all the visual features, but I am really bad at remembering names. I am trying to fix that.
13. Whenever I came across a good movie, I tested myself by watching it again and again for one week(once or twice a day), then I could remember every fricking line/scene in that movie. Once I failed the test, it is the movie "clockwise orange", Holy per Jesus, though I love British accent, the one in this movie....totally annoying...a good movie though
14. I start listen to music seriously since Junior, played Electric-guitar or vocal in several bands in College. Now I switch back to serenity: classical, folk(especially the ones from Ireland). Quoting from a conversation with another Metal band member: "I feel I am too old to rock that metallish stuff." which totally pissed him off..........I wish I could find someone here to form a band here, too.
15.Pissing people off with "clean words" is another thing I am good at, which won't do me any good anywhere....
16.I learn from various sources: Currently I have a personal point system to evaluate myself, inspired by Demetri Martin("If I")
17.I didn't know the stereotypes of difference races were grown sooooo deep in people's mind until I came here. I'd like to simply correct some of them here: Not all Chinese speaks Cantonese(it is only one dialect from one province among 34 provinces), for me, Cantonese is much more difficult than English cause I am from Northern part of China; We don't eat every animal out there; most importantly, where does that small-size-dick-stereotype come from, Japanese Porno? I don't mind to prove it wrong at all, ladies.
17. I think racism came from ignorance and lack of humor. I pity those and treasure all my friends from different nations.
18. I think life is contradictory, just like this tagging thing: I think it's out-of-date, a little bit annoying; yet I am still doing it, and enjoying it, sort-of.
19. I first got drunk when I was five, by red wine. My parents told me later that I said it tasted "sweet", then I was found lying on the bed sleeping like a log.
20. I consider change the nature a bigger achievement than change the individual. For example, I think make a person more intellectual is much easier than make a person handsome (without artificial surgery), and I am trying the latter one.
21. I couldn't tell a lie; every time I tried, people could just tell from my non-subtle-at-all behavior, so I just give up trying. I guess that's why my friends could easily tell what I am thinking.
22. I never had any trouble going to sleep; couldn't imagine what insomnia would be like, I guess I'd rather have physical pain if I ever gonna have insomnia.
22. I prefer small building rather than tall buildings, or skyscrapers.
23. The first person I know closely passed away was one of my classmates back in Junior High, on Jan 15th, 2009. Young life is as fragile as anyone, I shall treasure it as much as I can.
24. I enjoy talking with different people. I used to talk to the janitor in our department, learned that he had a brother who was about to go to College; I used to talk to one lady who deliver milk to our dorm, comforted her after learned that she got robbed just outside our campus. My classmates thought I was crazy to waste my time on this but I really think we should appreciate every life while we could.
25.I think I am the luckiest man in the world, and I appreciate it by trying to make it more interesting.
I think anyone who reads to the end is really kind and tolerating. Sorry if you feel the same as I felt about tagging but... whenever you are in the mood:-)
